Monash Prize for Year 11 Dux

Rosemary Appleby with Dr Bronwyn Naylor from Monash University

Congratulations to Rosemary Appleby (Year 12) who was recently awarded a Monash Prize as the Dux of Year 11 in 2008. The Prize includes a certificate from Monash University, a scholarship to undertake Enhancement Studies at Monash and a cheque for $1,000. Rosie will receive a further $1000 if she attends Monash University on completion of her VCE.

The Monash Prize, which is awarded to the Dux of Year 11 at several ‘high achieving' schools in Victoria, was awarded by Dr Bronwyn Naylor, Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Law at Monash. Dr Naylor also holds the positions of Director of Equity and Chair of the Equity and Diversity Committee, both in the Faculty of Law. In addition, Dr Naylor is the Associate Chair for the University's Standing Committee on Ethics in Research involving Humans.

Rosie said it was an honour to receive the Monash Prize and is looking forward to her future University studies.

"I am very interested in arts and law with a focus on International Relations. I hope to be able to undertake a double degree and study topics including Politics, History, Macroeconomics, as well as International and Human Rights Law," said Rosie.
