Mentone Girls on the Championship Road

There is certainly an exciting buzz around the School with a number of recent successes in speech and drama, dance and aerobics.

In the recent Eisteddfod by the Bay, Steph Kinnear (Year 7) won first place and sister Katie (Year 5) won second place in the 12 and under and the 10 and under "own choice" sections of the speech and drama competition. Both girls also received an honourable mention in their duologue section. 

In more Eisteddfod news, this time in the dance arena, dance star Kesley Holden achieved an amazing 7 firsts and 3 seconds at the same competition. She also won the Ballet Championship and the Aggregate in her age group. Kelsey started dancing at School four years ago and has become one our remarkable Mentone dancers.

Kelsey is one of the members of the School's 6 aerobics teams who will head to Adelaide in August for the National Schoolaerobics Championship. We had an incredible 13 teams compete at the recent State Finals, with 6 of our teams making it to Nationals. Mentone Girls' Grammar School will be sending one of the largest contingent of teams, which is an incredible achievement for our School, particularly when we are competing with Schools two and three times our size.

Our very own ‘Hot Rockers' took out the National title last year so we hope our girls can do it again in 2009.
