Parents' Association

Mentone Girls' Grammar School is indeed fortunate to have an active and enthusiastic Parents' Association.

The objectives of the Parents' Association are:

  • to contribute to well-being of school community - students, parents and staff.
  • to encourage the participation of all parents/guardians in the life of their school and in the education of their children.
  • to operate democratically and inclusively, providing opportunities for parents / guardians to develop links within the school community.
  • to conduct/assist in social and fundraising activities thereby complementing and enhancing the school facilities and programmes.
  • to facilitate allocation of raised funds to assist school activities.
  • to work in cooperation with Principal and School Council, providing information for parents/guardians thereby extending understanding of school issues.

The Parents' Association meets every first Monday of the month in the Bay Cafe at 7.30pm. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

At the AGM on 10 November 2008, the new PA Committee for 2009 was elected.

The Parents' Association works in conjunction with the School and a network of dedicated and hard-working Class Representatives to help fund and friend raise for the School.

Forthcoming events for 2009

Mentone Girls' Grammar School is celebrating its 110th Anniversary in 2009 so there will be a wide range of activities throughout the year to commemorate this incredible milestone. Highlight events include:

110 Anniversary Gala Dinner
Saturday 29 August

This spectacular event is a great a opportunity for parents to join with Old Girls, staff and the School's many friends and partners. The PA is delighted to be working with the School to bring this fabulous event to our community. We look forward to the support of our many parents and friends and to welcoming all of you to this wonderful evening.
