Strategic Plan

Reshaping Girls' Education for the 21st Century -  A New WAVE!

Few schools are as well placed as Mentone Girls' Grammar School to re-shape girls' education.  In 2008, we unveiled our  "new WAVE" - eight strategic ventures that will set the foundations to re-shape girls' education and enable our graduates to be the visionaries, the difference makers, and future leaders who will change the world.

1.  Highlighting creativity - the new commodity

  • Providing educational facilities that support creativity and high quality thinking.

2.  Thinking locally and globally

  • A multi-faceted approach with all areas of the School embracing this as a strategic priority.

3.  Personalised learning and academic achievement - keeping the individual in mind

  • Curriculum programs and technology will be increasingly designed to allow for individual differences and requirements.

4.  A WAVES learning community: Excellence in Girls' Education, care and leadership

  • A commitment to instilling behaviours and developing programs and processes that support the personal wellbeing, achievement, values formation, capacity for being enterprising and taking risk, and success of all Mentone Girls' Grammar School learners, students and staff.

5.  Recognising and developing high quality staff

  • Providing opportunities for staff to be recognised and rewarded in a variety of ways.

6.  Collaborating with the wider community

  • Building strategic alliances and enabling the wider community to benefit from our school's strengths, expertise and facilities.

7. Marketing and authentic communications

  • A vibrant marketing program to celebrate our successes and encourage further enrolment growth.

8.  A robust infrastructure and excellent facilities

  • Continually enhancing our school to offer a stimulating, functional, safe and attractive learning and working environment for students from Kinder - Year 12 and for staff.
