Mentone Girls’ Grammar is seeking to appoint a highly experienced and engaging Head of Languages.
The Head of Languages is responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of the Languages Department. This includes the responsibilities of being a Head of Department, leading and working with Languages teachers in the ongoing development of a curriculum that captures the interest and enhances the capability of girls across the school in Languages. Subject areas include: French, Japanese, Chinese and German.
At the heart of this role is a leader who can work to promote a collaborative and collegial culture within the School where high quality professional learning, the sharing of practice and ongoing feedback inspires the pursuit of excellence across all areas. As a dynamic, highly motivated individual with a deep understanding of the role played by the subject in engaging universal truths, the Head of Languages plays a critical part in being an articulate, inspiring role model, promoting a love of Language in the context of a pre-vocational, liberal, humane education.
This position is full time (FTE 1.00), commencing in Term 1, 2025. The successful candidate must be able to teach French to VCE level.
