A gift for life
By including Mentone Girls’ Grammar School in your Will, you will help future generations of students continue to acquire a lifelong love of learning and be of service to the community.
Your contribution will enable critical building works, facilities, programs or scholarships for girls with great potential, who otherwise would be unable access our unique style of quality education.
We rely on your support and generosity to give to the School through a bequest. Some gifts are large, others are small but all are important.
It is this commitment to the future of Mentone Girls’ Grammar School – a way of giving back – that lies at the heart of our philanthropic programs.
Should you have any questions, or require further information regarding bequests, please contact our Advancement Manager, Roslyn Holloway on 9581 1263 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org. You can be assured that any discussions will be treated respectfully and confidentially.
How to leave a bequest
If you have already made a Will, adding a bequest to the School is simple. Your solicitor can prepare a codicil form, or you can obtain one from the Advancement Manager at Mentone Girls’ Grammar School.
If you have not yet made a Will, your legal adviser can assist.
A bequest can take the form of a proportion or whole of an estate, a specified amount of money, property or as works of art, collections or jewellery. Alternatively, you may also consider leaving items such as stocks or shares or life insurance policy annuities or trust.
Providing an estimated amount of the value of your bequest is not compulsory. Although it is useful for School planning purposes, we will always respect your privacy and wishes.
A bequest notification form and codicil form can be found at the right of this page.
Preparing the wording in your Will
Please find examples below. We recommend you seek advice from a solicitor when making your Will. The information presented here is not legal advice.
The Simpson Society
When you make a bequest to the Mentone Girls’ Grammar School Foundation, we will acknowledge your commitment with membership to the Simpson Society; named in honour of the Simpson sisters who founded the School in 1899.
As a member of this honorary group, you will be invited to special events at the School, and acknowledged as a member of the Simpson Society and receive a commemorative pin.
Your membership to the society will be secured as soon as you provide the School with your Bequest (Gift) Notification. If you have left a bequest to the School and are yet to notify us, please get in contact.
