Stop the Presses – they’ve done it again!

Mentone’s senior and junior aerobics champs have done it again bringing home a medal cache of 9 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze medals from the Schoolaerobics State finals in Geelong last weekend.

And not only that, eleven teams and 10 solos have now also qualified for the National Titles to be held on the Gold Coast in August.

“It was tough,” admits Head Coach Jess Hayes “this year was a very high standard.

“We had 15 teams and 15 solos that performed on the weekend – aged from Year 4 to Old Girls – and they all finished in the top six in the State!

“It was an aim of our coaches this year and they did it,” smiles Jess, who admits there has been a bigger focus in training on strength, conditioning and fitness in 2018.

It was a sea of red in the primary solo division with one of our many little legends, Jasmine C Year 4, finishing in first place and qualifying for the Nationals, ahead of her Mentone teammates Grace and Abbey.

And it’s not over yet, this weekend 45 girls in 3 dance teams and eight solos, will compete in the Dancestar and Glee State finals – go girls!
