The School is seeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated Teacher Librarian in the role of Head of Kerferd Library.

The Kerferd Library is a vital learning hub for students in Years 7–12.  Reporting to the Deputy Principal – Teaching and Learning, the Head of Kerferd Library will lead the School’s contemporary vision for educational excellence by managing and advocating an innovative library, delivering state-of-the-art information services, and developing programs that foster lifelong learning.

The ideal candidate will offer strategic, empathetic and resilient leadership, high emotional intelligence, and strong academic and management credentials. They will guide a dedicated team to provide responsive library and information services, champion digital information technologies, and collaborate closely with School leaders and teachers.

As a qualified Teacher Librarian, the appointee will combine curriculum knowledge and pedagogy with library and information management expertise. Demonstrated excellence in teaching practice at the Secondary Leading Teacher level, aligned with the AITSL Standards (2014, ALIA Schools), is essential. Together with staff, the Head of Kerferd Library will create a vibrant, inclusive and welcoming centre at the heart of the School, supporting inquiry, lifelong learning and a whole-school reading culture.
