Mentone Girls’ Grammar is seeking an inspiring Flute Specialist and Ensemble Director to join our outstanding Music Program to commence in Term 4. This is a brilliant opportunity to work with highly engaged students in a school celebrated for musical excellence, performance and opportunity. 

Reporting to the Head of Music Programs, you will nurture a love of music while contributing to a dynamic, inclusive and performance-driven culture, with a strong understanding of the learning and wellbeing needs of girls.  

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Flute from Beginner to VCE
• Deliver individual and small-group instrumental lessons
• Direct and develop ensembles, including Concert Bands and Woodwind Ensembles
• Prepare students for concerts, festivals, competitions, VCE performances and AMEB exams
• Support a vibrant co-curricular music program

This casual role suits an enthusiastic, experienced music educator who thrives in a collaborative environment and loves seeing students shine on stage.

Availability

• 1–2 days per week
• Must be available Fridays

About You

• Current VIT Registration or WWCC
• High-level musicianship with Flute expertise
• Experience across Classical and Contemporary styles
• Strong ensemble leadership and teamwork skills
• Passion for student wellbeing, child safety and girls’ education
• Music technology skills and experience with diverse learners (advantage)
