Ms Anna Wassell joined Mentone Girls’ Grammar in 2025 as Head of Senior School, bringing with her a wealth of experience in senior leadership, wellbeing, and pedagogy.
Prior to joining Mentone Girls' Gramma , Anna held a number of significant leadership roles at Haileybury College, including Head of Senior Girls and, more recently, Head of Senior School Wellbeing. In these roles, she led large cross-campus teams and was responsible for the academic, cultural, and pastoral care of more than 1,000 students. She is a highly experienced mathematics teacher and instructional coach, known for her strategic thinking and commitment to evidence-informed practice.
Anna is a passionate advocate for girls’ education and the principles of positive education. Her leadership is driven by a deep understanding of student needs and a strong belief in the power of education to nurture confident, compassionate, and capable young women. She is dedicated to creating inclusive, empowering environments where students feel seen, supported, and inspired to find their voice.
Anna is honoured to lead the Senior School and is committed to guiding students as they grow in identity, agency, and global awareness.
