Our Year 7 students were recently visited by Karen Hayes AM DSJ (FAICD), CEO of Guide Dogs Victoria, and two of her four-legged friends as part of our Enterprise Academy program.
Karen has made a significant contribution to people with low vision and blindness and, among her many other achievements, has been inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women (2017), appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia (2019) and inducted as a Dame in the Order of St John (2019).
Our students thoroughly enjoyed Karen’s inspiring presentation, taking away some valuable lessons.
“I learned to follow your dreams and take any opportunity so you don't look back.” Amelie.
“I learned life lessons that I want to remember and put into play in my own life. I also learned about Karen's struggle with breast cancer and her career. Her presentation was both entertaining and educational.” Isabella.
