At Our All-Girls' Grammar School
How We Foster a Strong Culture of Learning and Wellbeing
We emphasise a strong culture of learning and the wellbeing of our students, with an integrated curriculum that fosters friendships and peer support across Junior and Senior levels.
- Our students benefit from interacting with different age groups, blending primary and secondary school cultures for learning in the classroom, sport, leadership and in the wider community.
- To give all girls a strong sense of community, we introduce them to our School House system from Prep. Everyone is encouraged to be part of it, joining in special events like Music and Poetry Festivals, House Music and Dance, International Women’s Day activities, as well as House Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country carnivals.
- We have a formal ‘Buddy Program’ that provides opportunities for mentoring, leadership and positive role models for younger students. Buddies spend allocated time together in a program of activity and engagement.
Why Do We Believe in a Nurturing Environment?
We believe in creating a nurturing environment where every girl feels that she is known, seen and heard, ensuring that a strong sense of belonging underpins her time with us
We know girls and we use our expertise in girls’ education to support them in reaching their full potential in whatever pathway to choose. Through our holistic approach of supporting the whole girl we are focused on empowering them to become confident, capable young women.
Set on a beautiful single campus, we offer the advantages of a seamless education from Kindergarten to Year 12 enabling us to provide continuity in learning and meet the needs of all girls at their different developmental stages. This is vital to their success as learners and their growth as competent, confident and connected individuals.
We empower young women through the life-changing gift of a high-quality, contemporary education.
Our students regularly win prizes for sporting and artistic endeavour, and attain a high level of academic achievement as measured by key markers including NAPLAN (National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy), VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) and ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Ranking) scores. These results are a reflection of the hard work put in by students and their teachers over many years in all critical areas of learning. We are particularly delighted when students achieve or surpass their personal expectations which are not always reflected in a test or ATAR score. Our results are particularly pleasing considering we are a non-selective entry school and welcome students of all talents and abilities.
Through our personalised approach to learning, combined with our expertise in the education of girls, we help students build their self-confidence, achieve excellence and make a difference – these are the results that matter most.
