We are seeking an experienced and passionate Learning Support Teacher to join our Junior School team, working across Prep–6 to support students to engage confidently and successfully in their learning.

The Learning Support Teacher works collaboratively with classroom teachers, the Head of Learning Support and other members of the Learning Support team to identify and respond to individual learning needs. The role involves providing targeted support, implementing evidence-informed strategies and adjustments, and contributing to inclusive classroom practices that enable every student to access the curriculum and develop greater independence as a learner.

The successful candidate will build positive relationships with students, teachers and families and will bring a strong understanding of diverse learning needs and contemporary approaches to learning support in a primary school setting.

This is a 0.60 FTE fixed-term position commencing at the beginning of the 2027 academic year.

About you
The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant teaching qualifications and current VIT registration.
  • Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs in a primary school setting.
  • A sound understanding of evidence-informed literacy and numeracy interventions.
  • Strong knowledge of reasonable adjustments and inclusive teaching practices.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers and other members of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A warm, student-centred approach and a genuine commitment to helping every student feel known, seen and heard.
  • The ability to work flexibly across different year levels and learning contexts.
