At Mentone Girls’ Grammar, we are focused on creating the next generation of enterprising women that learn by making a difference for others.
We work with our girls, industry partners and the local community to create real jobs and to give our students a clear advance to succeed in the world of work.
The Junior Enterprise Program is lead by Nicole Spence, an experienced Junior School educator with extensive expertise in STEM learning and Design Thinking.
Nicole mentors students from Years 3 – 6 and utilities her deep pedagogical knowledge of the PYP curriculum & Victorian Curriculum to provide unique learning experiences for students to develop and practise a range of enterprise skills, attitudes and behaviours. Nicole creates opportunities for the girls to be involved in a number of business enterprises and social enterprises.
Kelly Jedd, a passionate educator, and our Head of Careers and Enterprise, oversees the Senior Enterprise Program. The program provides students with access to exclusive mentoring opportunities along with a dynamic workshop series covering a wide range of topics from creativity and design to social media, marketing, business planning and more.
Students also have the opportunity to pitch their idea to a panel of judges for access to seed funding to help launch their enterprise projects.
Our Enterprise Program funds paid casual work for recent graduates and current MGGS students to lead EA projects and events and provides ongoing professional development for Associates to build their enterprise skills through real work experience.
“Throughout my time as an Enterprise Associate, I have had the opportunity to develop technical, professional and business skills that I can apply in my life. I have also been able to work with like minded students to make a difference in the way learning and leadership is perceived within the school and in the community.”
