With our Mentone Girls' Grammar School community safe at home, our Kerferd Library is a  one-stop-shop, providing access to all the eBooks and audio books we have on offer.

Age appropriate content

Our girls and their families have access to over 26,000 eBooks and audio books. Our Librarians, Kirk, Simon and David have arranged this content on the new guide so it easy for Junior School students to go to the Junior School fiction and nonfiction and the Senior School students to access the Senior School fiction and nonfiction.

2020 Big Library Read dates: 23 March to 13 April.

In addition to the usual Kerferd Library eBooks and audio books, between 23 March and 13 April our main fiction eBook and audio book supplier is running the Big Library Reads. This is a global online book club where you have unlimited access to the same book via the Kerferd Library, and any other participating library. The book for 2020 is “Funny, You Don't Look Autistic: A Comedian's Guide to Life on the Spectrum by Michael McCreary” This is a book suitable for mature year 9 and above. The direct URL for this book ishttps://library.mentonegirls.vic.edu.au/ebooks-audiobooks/big-library-read. You can download and read the eBook, or audio book, or both. Responsible adults (but definitely not our students) may also want to read this book with an alcoholic beverage of their choice and momentarily forget that the world is going mad one toilet roll at a time.

Temporary access to a lot more classics

A number of publishers are letting their existing library customers access a whole lot of extra eBooks for free. Today the Kerferd Library, and our partner library at Ruyton Girls’ School, turned on an extra 200 popular classics from Duke Classics eBooks. These will be available in the next couple of days. As a result we are planning to run a “Read a classic challenge” starting this week and going to the end of the year. As soon as these temporary eBooks are available I will load them up to the URL at https://library.mentonegirls.vic.edu.au/ebooks-audiobooks/read-a-classic

The most popular Duke classic eBooks by schools around the world:
